About Tiffany – The brains behind Ahnvee Photography (& the Camera)
I’ve been putting off the dreaded “About Me” part of any photographer’s website structure for quite some time now. Truth is, I hate talking about myself – mostly because I think no one actually cares. So I’ll try to make this as fun an interesting as possible!
First fun fact: back in the days of Myspace I was that girl that loved reading/completing those random surveys. (Yes, I’m that old.) To this day, I ask clients and employees to complete questionnaires to get to know them! So I thought, why not do the same for me?
Are you ready to get to know the brains behind Ahnvee Photography? Buckle up; here we go!
What’s your spirit animal?
I want to say Pam from “The Office“, but a.) some of you may not get that reference (you’re missing out by the way) and b.) that’s not completely fair because, well, she’s not an animal.
If I must choose an animal, it would have to be a water animal because water is where I feel most relaxed and at peace. I took 3 quizzes I found online and they all produced different results (of course). However, those results were a dolphin, a seahorse, and an otter, so I’m not completely off base with the water theme. Results:
People who identify with the dolphin spirit animal are usually peaceful and gentle, but with a deep inner strength. Dolphins are both highly intelligent and closely in tune with their instincts.
The symbolic meaning of Seahorse is quite intricate and diverse as this little creature itself is full of surprises. The seahorse is a symbol of friendliness, charisma, and contentment. The eyesight of the seahorse is incredibly sharp, and each eye moves independently, which allows a heightened sense of perception and awareness of what’s around.
Otters celebrate joy in the simple things, passion for the things that their heart desires, and freedom to do what their instincts are telling them.
Who’s to say any of this is accurate or even important, but the quiz lover in me had fun and that’s all that matters.
List three words that best describe your personality:
Creative, quirky, determined
Describe the most amazing adventure in your opinion, if money and time were not an issue.
I have the desire to make my entire life an amazing adventure. My dream job would allow me to travel the world as an international wedding photographer. My heart has a soft spot for weddings because they require more of a journalistic style of photography, as opposed to styling and posing of portrait photography. I like to sit back and watch what organically takes place and capture those raw, candid moments.
Another one of my loves is food and culture. Not many people know this, but I went to college with the intention of opening my own unique bar and restaurant with interesting, artistically plated food. I love all cuisines and I want to travel to experience the different cultures and food the world has to offer. First on the list is Tokyo, Japan.
What would you say is your best talent/attribute?
Personally, I think that my best quality is my ability to see beauty in everything. It’s a weird but very useful ability when it comes to being a creative. Whether it be photography or my other creative endeavors, I am able to see the potential in something that most can’t see. I feel fortunate to have such an amazing gift, and it’s a huge part of what makes my photos so stunning and unique.
Waffles or Pancakes?
Waffles. I like the duality of the crispy exterior of waffles with the softness of the inside. Plus, a food with pockets? No brainer!
What are some of the events in your life that made you who you are?
Having my son was one of the most monumental events in my life. My son is honestly the reason I turned my photography into a career, among other influential aspects that make me the person I am today.
What’s your favorite holiday and why?
My absolute favorite holiday is Halloween. I enjoy being creative with costumes and decorations.
My second favorite holiday is probably Christmas, or any other big gift-giving holiday. Giving creative and thoughtful gifts is such a joy for me. Plus, parties and food are fun too 😉
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
Recently I’ve been enjoying playing The Sims 4! Be it lame, but it is another creative outlet for me. I spend an embarrassing amount of time creating characters and building their houses, and I rarely actually play the game. It allows me to relax and take a break but still keep my creative juices flowing!
My everyday hobbies are cooking, EATING, and going to live music shows. I also love all sorts of games including board games (I have an overflowing board game cabinet), tennis, bowling, mini golf, arcade games, badminton – ya know, the usual competitive stuff.
What is your greatest achievement?
Finally being able to take control of my mental health.
Absolute favorite place to shop for clothing?
I’m a quantity over quality girl when it comes to clothes, and I get a high from getting a good deal. Therefore I shop at Ross, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc. as well as Poshmark and clearance sections of all the best stores. But I’ll spend tons of money and hours in Target, and I know ya’ll feel me on this.
Name three of your favorite songs:
Oh damn that’s a challenge but I accept it.
Flaneur by Plini – I started a Spotify station based on this song so that has to mean something, right?
The band I’ve loved for the longest amount of time is Dance Gavin Dance, and to choose a favorite would be like asking me to commit murder.
And I’ll get all mushy and sentimental for this last one – almost any song from Mangata. They’re an amazingly talented band from Lafayette, and their music helped me through the toughest time of my life. Plus I found my soul mate in the sexy drummer, so there’s that 😉
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Advice, I’m not sure – but I’ll tell you the most beneficial quote I’ve ever utilized is: “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.” – Dr. Seuss
What’s your pet peeve?
People who go out of their way for attention, especially if they put others down.
LIARS
Ohhhh AND people who say they dislike something even though they haven’t tried it.
Cats or dogs?
I prefer dogs, but I think cats are hilarious.
What do you want to be remembered for?
If I died today I’d probably be remembered for how often I changed my hair color or how big of an appetite I have, and probably my creativity (at least I’d hope). But in all honesty, I hope that I will be remembered for being someone who always tried thier best to be their best self.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I used to plan a lot for the future. However, I recently realized that planning for the future only to have those plans not pan out made my anxiety worse and really affected me in a negative way. Now, after a series of unplanned events, I live day-to-day and I’ve never been happier. So in five years I hope I’m happier than I am today – just living life to the fullest and allowing the universe to guide me where I need to be.
Describe your perfect last meal:
As if I thought the music question was hard!….I’ll just choose one favorite item from all of my favorite cuisines.
Italian: handmade cheese ravioli, veal diavolo with fresh baked sourdough and garlic butterrrr
Thai: Thai red curry with brown rice (brown is better I promise!)
Vietnamese: meatball + rare steak Pho with char-grilled pork spring rolls
Korean: bibimbap with kimchi and Korean potato salad
Indian: lamb vindaloo
Desserts: apple bread pudding from Pamplona with bacon gelato
Plus a wine to pair with each dish 🙂
Describe your biggest strength and weakness:
Strength: I think I have an incredibly strong intuition. I’ve also been told I’m attentive to detail and meticulous once or twice lol.
Weakness: I expect too much from myself and others. I’m also a professional procrastinator *shrug emoji*
That’s a wrap! My hope is that you had as much fun reading this as I had answering these questions. From all of us here at Ahnvee, I’m Tiffany Lemoine. You stay classy Lafayette!
